Gregarious Giampaolo de Santis (Zozzo, Porcellino) is realizing his dream of opening a casual community Italian meeting place and alimentari supermarket-a multifunctional mini store where everything is made from scratch. Its name is Rome, and it is now driving on Kangding Road.

When you enter the restaurant for the first time, the first thing that catches your eyes is the food area-a variety of freshly made pastries, breads, pastas, jams, spices and ice cream, as well as a wide variety of cooked food-cheese, meat and Pickled or brine snacks.

Next, you will head to the bar outlined by the backlit arches, which is a common design theme throughout the restaurant, paying tribute to the Colosseum in Gianpaolo’s hometown. There are aperitifs, after-dinner drinks and cocktails, as well as more than 220 bottles of competitively priced wine. The price of each bottle ranges from RMB 48-138, and the price of bottled wine is between RMB 178-688.

The restaurant on the main floor is equipped with dark blue plush wrap-around benches, featuring low-hanging Edison bulbs intertwined with suspended green plants in glass containers.

Walk past the spacious open kitchen and the large trees planted at the bottom of the stairs, then move up to another level of exposed ceiling ducts and concrete walls illuminated by spherical spheres.

There is also a wine cellar and tasting room, and there are two private restaurants upstairs, which can be combined to hold events. The minimalist design was curated by brothers Giuliano and Nazareno Labate, born in Naples, centered on earth tones, with deep red details, dense bushes, and a mix of wood and metal products.

All this is very industrial fashion.

The focal point of the restaurant is the brightly lit open kitchen. Here, chef Andrea Calducci (the executive chef of Shanghai Tower 101 Centuono) consulted about 80% of the menu-to ensure that it is made in-house as much as possible and fresh every day-to provide a series for diners on the go Experienced dishes Italy.

Using Grandma Giampaolo's recipe, Polpette Alla Romana (98 yuan) is a Roman-style meatball with delicate tomato sauce. The meatballs themselves are eye-catching because of their varied and soft texture, slightly crumbly, and blended into the light tomato sauce they are in.

Pro tip: Giampaolo is known for its infamous fluffy focaccia, so keep some of the added soaking feed provided at the beginning of the meal.

After marinating for more than 24 hours, Polpo & Romesco (RMB 108), or grilled octopus legs with sweet pepper romesco sauce, cook for 6 hours in sous-vide cooking, then sprinkle the common Sicilian garnish on top and serve with slices Crushed tomatoes, black olives and garlic chutney.

The real bread and butter-so to speak-are pasta. Giampaolo uses the best Italian flour to make fresh noodles every day to increase egg content, especially silky noodles. For example: Spaghettone Alla Carbonara (98 yuan). The thin egg fettuccine noodles are smooth, with a sweet yolk, dotted with popped pig cheeks and shaved pecans. Simple and straightforward, this dish is very sultry.

Handcrafted flawlessly, the curly ribbon-like Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Chinghiale (RMB 128) has a soft and forgiving texture—not completely uniform—that creates a complex taste when paired with wild boar sauce and oil-sealed mushrooms. The humble ingredients merge together-a slice of carrot, a slice of onion, a large slice of pork sausage, and then disappear into the cream sauce.

When you come to Rome, be sure to try Roma Pizza (RMB 138), a traditional tomato macaroni topped with thin stracciatella cheese, Parma ham, cherry tomatoes and fresh arugula. The dough is made with a higher water-to-flour ratio before fermentation for 48 hours-just like in Zozzo-to make the crust more airy and crunchy. This fan’s favorite thing is sold on a piecemeal basis at Zozzo, but even the whole pie can easily fall off.

Rombo Alla Siciliana (RMB 188) is placed on a bed of scallop potatoes, grilled halibut with cherry tomatoes, black olives and saltwater capers. The Mediterranean flavor is brightened by the breath of lemon.

They say that a balanced diet is chocolate in both hands, which is our motto when ordering desserts. Whether it’s Tortino Ai Cuore Fondente (RMB 88)-a chocolate and walnut cake with melted cocoa lava and salted caramel ice cream-or Tiramisu Rome (RMB 88)-a traditional alternative The cake interpretation, topped with chocolate mousse instead of cocoa powder-you really can't go wrong.

Rome feels like a block-in Shanghai, New York, hell, and even Rome; it feels like you have been here before, which is very comforting. This is not where you go to party. This is not a place to wow business customers. However, when the bill comes, it will not give you a huge impact.

This is an approachable place to enjoy a hearty meal; a place to drink a glass or two of wine, with smooth casual jazz and a good atmosphere. This is the vision Giampaolo wants to create, and this is exactly what he did.

Price: RMB150-350 Who goes: Carbohydrate addicts (bread, pasta and pizza, my goodness!), all Italians, Jing'an people crave everything that Italy has for: pasta consumption, casual wine and date nights, friends Catching up without going bankrupt
