MKE in "Hell's Kitchen": Who has a black jacket?

There were five places in the finals, three challenges and one person was eliminated on the edge of greatness.

A chef in Milwaukee is studying whether he can tolerate the heat in the most famous kitchen in the world.

Adam Pawlak, the owner of Egg & Flour Pasta Bar, invited 17 other chefs (and the infamous celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay) in the latest season of FOX's "Hell's Kitchen". Aired at 7pm on Thursday night, the long-term reality show competition gave chefs from all over the country (in this case, the world) a chance to win a leadership position at Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen in Lake Tahoe, and earn a salary of $250,000. Along the way, the dishes and self were broken, some contestants burned their food, and Ramsey famously burned the contestants, crushing their hearts one by one.

In the end, a chef reigns supreme... Even if the chef does not become Pawlak this season, food editor Lori Fredrich and I are still revisiting the latest episode-served with wine (natch).

So, without Adam, how to survive this season? Let's talk (and drink):

Be sure to join us every Thursday night around 8:10 to discuss the show and discuss who has spent a heavenly time in "Hell's Kitchen". (Unfortunately, the rest of the contestants are not included) How is Adam?

This is "Hell's Kitchen" black jacket week (or more like black jacket week, considering the new chef's costume is just their old chef's costume, but there is an extra black stripe on the collar). Here, I want everyone on the show to look like they redesigned the four-hour dark and moody Snyder editing of "Hell's Kitchen."

Before our last six chefs faced their new fashion statement on Thursday night, they encountered something scarier and more intense: serving the elevator! Ahhhhh! In fact, after last week’s knockout, the sous chefs slowly pulled the remaining contestants down and sent them to a freight elevator, where everyone—especially Mary Lou—obviously believed Take them to the death lair of the puzzle or other terrible places. Ah yes, this happens every "Hell's Kitchen" season, they let the remaining chefs be murdered-you would think the FCC would have something to say about it.

No, no one was surprised that "Hell's Kitchen" did not send the chefs to the death dungeon, although the show did send them to the Chris Angel magic show, which somehow seemed even more unpleasant. I would joking more often that Angel is in her 50s, but she is still well dressed and has the fringe attitude of a 25-year-old hot topic clerk; but I don't want to pierce the buzz of Gordon Ramsey. While watching the show, the big villain boss in the show turned into a teddy bear-eyes widened in surprise as I watched the magician's levitation and anti-gravity movements-I couldn't be happy anymore. This person just likes magic, even if it's not magic but just a prank: got his ass lmao pic.twitter.com/o6JKCLU8x2-I'm not Twitter (@lmao_howsway) March 18, 2021

At the end of his show, Angel did not reveal his mysterious secrets, but he did reveal something more important to the chef: the black jacket, they will compete through several culinary challenges throughout the episode. The result is the most avant-garde, food-focused time of the entire season so far. No wonder it is listed as one of my favorite episodes.

The first challenge is to taste it, make it immediately, and the remaining six contestants will get a signature chef Ramsey dish and must remake it as accurately as possible without being informed of the ingredients or recipe. Their sense of taste must be able to distinguish what the fish is, what is in the two purees, and what is in the salad on the plate. The chefs are all looking for ingredients on the same court, but they occasionally differ in certain elements. Half of the crew chose cod as the mysterious lead fish; the other half chose bass. Almost everyone found that the salad featured green apples, but although Cody thought it was seasoned with white onions, Mary Lou believed that the crisp, salty flavor in the toppings was chicory. This speculation ultimately gave Mary Lou a score for the a la carte version Victory and the first black jacket of the season (and membership card for the fancy black jacket lounge, complete with massage and wine). Due to her stupid demeanor and bright purple hair, it’s easy to overlook Mary Lou this season, assuming she is as a character rather than as a chef, but she has come this far, barely stumbled, and now won the first place. The last five names. Underestimate her at your own risk.

However, she was not the only one to get a black jacket in the challenge, because Declan's cod dish also brought him new costumes, thanks to his accurate ingredients-including attention to the onion decoration. So when they got a massage and champagne, the remaining four contestants prepared for the second black jacket challenge of the day. And Kori pointed out very loudly that she would stab someone to get a black jacket. And think people are afraid of freight elevators!

The second challenge is like a gourmet's "set it all", six guards come in with secret briefcases of raw materials: there are no lost choices, all of which are an excellent starting point for making delicious dishes. Just like the first round, Amber thinks too much to get himself back on time. Leaving aside her grumpy relationship with other blue team members, I think Amber is a talented chef, but if this show is any evidence, she is too panicked to be in charge of Ramsay's restaurant. At the same time, on the other side of the kitchen, Nikki managed to stain her lobster and overcook the tail, instead of making it the obvious focus of her dishes, she had to bury it in polenta. Her dishes tasted good in the end, but it seemed too poor to get a black jacket-instead, the next two black jackets turned to Cody and Kori, and they ended up offering an outstanding dish that was outstanding with her maturity Kitchen management skills complement each other. Please don't stab people.

So we have only two final chefs left and only one black jacket to distribute. On the one hand, you have Nikki, she lacks experience, but obviously has the talent to move on. On the other hand, you have Amber, she has experience, and is obviously a polish on the plate, but it is easy to disrupt her mental rhythm-she enters the final challenge arrogantly and underestimates Nikki's cooking ribs. Make a bold choice and let the reality show gods hit you.

The goal of the last challenge is to make a decisive dish based on your culinary history. In Nikki's case, it is a heightened version of pork chops and scallop potatoes-she remembers eating a lot of things in the process of being poor and often hungry, and relying on boxed scallop potatoes to get through difficult times in difficult times. In terms of Amber, this is a classic beef bourguignon, because when she lived in France, it was the first dish she tried. She fell in love with her mother because her mother’s cooking skills were not good and the roasting pot was also very good. Oops. Well, I hope Amber's mother is not watching this episode!

Between the two, Nikki's dishes and stories are more difficult to beat; beef bourguignon is a classic, standard, and easy-to-win dish, while Nikki's has more personality and feeling. Unfortunately, Amber’s dishes are more refined-and, in the end, I think Ramsay wanted to pick a more experienced person to lead his restaurant, so Amber got the final black jacket, which made Declan very unhappy. . I believe this will not be a problem in any future episodes...

However, Nikki did not return completely empty-handed. On the one hand, for the first time this season, there was a chef who was eliminated. Ramsey asked her to keep her chef's uniform. This is a trophy representing her achievements in the show. Considering that she has too little experience, consider To the extent that she was underestimated and looked down upon, she was seen by her teammates and was deeply impressed. In addition, Ramsey gave her the opportunity to fly to any of his restaurants to participate in performances—a very fancy unpaid internship—to learn more skills and gain more contacts in the industry. Obviously, he saw her potential. She may not be ready to win "Hell's Kitchen" and run a restaurant now, but Ramsey sees something similar in her future.

In the end, Nickelodeon may have lost, but just like Adam can leave the show with a swagger, she has completely gained time in "Hell's Kitchen". In addition, she caused millions of viewers across the country to suddenly have a huge desire for scallop potatoes-an impressive and highly appreciated final feat.

Although it is a cliché to say that one has always been passionate about movies, Matt Mueller has always been passionate about movies. Whether it's bringing the latest film reviews for his first-year shows and narrations, or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College era as a high school student, Matt is too obsessed with movies for his own benefit.

When he doesn't write the latest blockbuster or talks about "Piranha 3D" too enthusiastically, he may find that Matt is watching almost any sport (excluding cricket) or working at-get this-at a local movie theater. Or watch a movie. Yes, he may be watching a movie.
