A celebrity chef came under fire for the amazing prices of his London restaurant-after a receipt showing the £630 for a single steak was spread.

Nusret Gökçe became an internet celebrity under the name "Salt Bae" and recently opened his 15th restaurant in Knightsbridge.

However, for Britons who wish to come here for dinner, it is best to book a flight to Istanbul, Turkey because this trip will be cheaper.

The bill from Nusr-Et Steakhouse in the capital showed that the hungry restaurant paid a total of £1,812.40.

The receipt showed that the customer bought a "gold burger" worth 100 pounds, a salad of 23 pounds, two tempura prawn rolls worth 60 pounds, and a 10 pounds corn on the cob.

The most expensive is a £630 "giant tomahawk" steak covered with gold leaf.

However, even smaller items carry high price tags.

An onion flower costs 18 pounds, a bottle of Coke costs 9 pounds, and a bottle of Red Bull costs 11 pounds.

The only free item on the menu is Turkish tea, which is obviously provided for free.

The huge bill includes a 15% service charge of £236.40.

A Twitter user said: "It's cheaper to eat in a Turkish restaurant in Salt Bae by plane than to go to London.

"Coke is 9 pounds. Tomahawk steak is 630 pounds. No need, thank you."

Another added: “There is a line where the high price of a restaurant is no longer plagiarism, but a kind of performance art.

"I think Salt Bae's new London restaurant has surpassed it."

One-third said that the chef must be "laughing."

Salt Bae’s Instanbul restaurant does not show prices on its online menu.

However, Tripadvisor reviews indicate that diners who bought a carpaccio, three burgers, three desserts and three soft drinks were charged more than £75.

Although dinner without wine in Turkey may seem expensive, it is only a small change compared to the price in London.

Nevertheless, the Knightsbridge branch seems to be fully booked in the next few weeks.

Time Out reports that “it’s basically impossible to have a seat”-which shows that there are many high-profile guests ready to pay for dinner.

Gemma Collins recently ate Tomahawk Steak on date night with her boyfriend Lami Havas.
