If you love specials on crime then you need to check out ID channel's new show Murders at the Burger Joint on Monday night at 10 p.m. ET. One of the most tragic and well known true crime stories in Indiana's history — the 1978 Speedway Burger Chef murders — has remained unsolved.
However, Monday's special digs deep into what they know. What is known is Jayne Friedt, 20, was the assistant manager on duty, along with 17-year-old Ruth Shelton and Daniel Davis and Mark Flemmonds, both 16-years-old. The employees were closing the restaurant and around midnight, one person opened the back door to take out the garbage.

It's unclear what happened next. Their bodies were found two days later near Center Grove High School in Johnson County. All four were still wearing their brown and orange Burger Chef uniforms. In addition, $581 was missing from the restaurant.
It is a heartbreaking story about four people that had their lives taking way too early and for what amounts to a small amount of money. It is a crazy story that is still trying to be figured out and is a must-watch on Monday night.
