SALT Bae is hiring a sushi chef with an hourly pay worth LESS than a side of asparagus at his London restaurant.

Chef-turned internet icon Nusret Gökçe is offering a sushi-pro £14 an hour to work at his posh Knightsbridge eatery.

But after one hour's work, a potential employee couldn't even afford one serving of asparagus at the restaurant - with the measly side dish costing a whopping £18.

And, with the yearly salary for the role coming in at £27,300, 12 months of work wouldn't cover the cost of one diner's £37,000 meal at the eatery.

The advert for the role states: "We are currently looking for a talented Sushi Chef to join the new opening of Nusr-Et London.

"If you’re enthusiastic to contribute in a fast-paced environment, please apply below."

It goes on to specify that candidates must "have experience preparing sushi of the finest quality in a high-end, high-volume kitchen".

Future employees must also have "a passionate personality" and good attention to detail.

It was last week revealed that Salt Bae was looking for a toilet attendant for his restaurant.

But on just £11-an-hour, it would take them a shocking three WEEKS to be able to buy just one of Nusr-Et's £850 gold encrusted steaks.

Would-be workers are told their duties will be to deal with "various bodily fluids and, on occasion, dealing directly with the public".

An online ad says the job pays between £10.50 and £11.00 per-hour plus tips from the diner's cash-splashing clientele - which are no doubt set to be generous.

In the online ad, candidates are told: "Successful applicants for this position will be responsible for the safety, security, cleanliness and proper use of our toilets in the restaurant."

Duties include cleaning and servicing the bathroom, ensuring the facilities are secure and safe and keeping up social-distancing measures.

Any future employees are unlikely to clap eyes on the boss because he’s leaving London for Saudi Arabia to open his newest outpost.

The butcher-turned-chef won't be around to slice steaks and show off his salt-smattering skills tableside for adoring fans like Wayne and Coleen Rooney.

Deep-pocketed foodies have previously paid £250 for prime reservations at the Knightsbridge eatery, with the chain recently under fire for allegedly treating staff poorly.
