Ranking Every Outfit Based On Swag In Xenoblade Chronicles 3

There are many outfits for your party members to rock in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but which ones are the best?

There is a metric ton of stuff for you to see, do, unlock, and battle in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, with mastering all twenty-five Classes being one of your primary focuses as you reach the endgame content. While that is undoubtedly a lot of Classes, all of them offer unique threads to the primary cast if they meet specific requirements.

However, some clothing options are drastically better than others and will change the look of your entire character's outfit, while lots of them will only toss in a cape and call it a day. For this reason alone, we decided to examine every clothing option in the game and make them face off against one another to determine which ones are the best and which need a bit more work.

Kicking things off is the Ogre outfit, which is Sena's default Class. While this isn't a terrible looking clothing option, it is rather basic, placing it firmly at the bottom. However, this cropped jacket does lend itself well to every character but lacks the extra 'oomph' needed to propel it any further.

Furthermore, this outfit falls victim to what most others do in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which is only adding one article of clothing over top of their default appearance. Had this outfit just made everyone copy Sena's looking, perhaps it would have been much higher on our list. But, just adding a short jacket isn't the best.

Next is Mio's Zephyr outfit, with every character wearing a stylish white coat that barely comes up over their shoulders. While the coat itself looks incredible, there's something about how it appears on other characters that make it plummet in the rankings.

Overall, it's not a bad outfit in the slightest. It just falls short when compared to the vast majority of others. And, like the others, we wish that Mio's default outfit was applied to every one of the party members rather than just the Class's jacket. Unfortunately, only a handful of Classes do that, which seems like a crime.

While Ashera is certainly one of the best Heroes in the game, her outfit can be a bit underwhelming when applied to the main cast of characters. Ashera's entire outfit is incredible, but only taking her pointed shoulder pads and placing them on each member of Ouroboros is definitely a choice.

As par for the course, we genuinely think giving each member Ashera's complete outfit would have improved this look exponentially. Nonetheless, this is what we were given, and we must rank it, making it sit towards the bottom of the list. Though, to be fair, as far as shoulder pads go, these aren't the worst.

Zeon is another absurdly cool Hero found in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 that offers an 'okay' outfit that won't necessarily blow you away. The Guardian Commander outfit offers you a cropped jacket with sleeves and shoulder pads, with nice splashes of bright blue lights illuminating the sleeves.

Additionally, this is one of the rare cases where keeping everyone in their default costume and adding an additional layer on top of it kind of works. It's not perfect, but we feel Zeon's cool cropped jacket fits well with each character's normal clothes. It doesn't seem distracting or out of place, and that's all we can really ask for.

Heavy Guard is Lanz's default Class and has everyone rock a trenchcoat with a fur collar, making it one of the more stylish outfits from the main cast. Despite the colors being rather dull, everyone pulls off this look, even with their default uniforms standing out underneath.

Though one of the better ones of the incredibly Ouroboros squad, it still pales to many of the others you obtain later in your adventure. As a result, it sits firmly towards the bottom, despite its attempt to have a little flare around the collar.

This one was tricky to place as it could easily be considered one of the best in the game based on coolness alone, but it can also be considered 'okay' at best when you really start looking into it. The Full Metal Jaguar Class belongs to the overly calm and exceptionally skilled Gray, who sports a cool tattered cape and a shoulder pad.

What makes this rank so low for us is that it's missing Gray's mask that covers his mouth that makes him resemble the likes of Kakashi from Naruto. While having a cape slapped on top of their default attire is sort of disappointing to begin with, we could have easily overlooked it if they pulled up the mask to complete the look.

It's hoodie season, and Eunie showed up prepared. Is her Medic Gunner's hoodie the best looking piece of equipment in the game? No. Absolutely not. But you cannot deny that everyone looks good in a hoodie. It's just a fact. Furthermore, the color scheme of Eunie's hoodie is quite good and really contrasts nicely with most of the cast's default attire.

Unfortunately, despite the season's demand for hoodies, there are simply much better threads out there for you to obtain and get fitted with to make an impression. However, don't let this detract from how awesome Eunie's hoodie is and how well everyone pulls it off.

Up next is the leading man himself, Noah, and his Swordfighter jacket. While it's just another jacket thrown atop the cast's standard attire, there's something different about this one. It looks soft and stylish and has a fantastic 'X' strap at the top that does a surprisingly good job at giving it some flare.

Like the others, it won't necessarily 'wow' you whenever you see other characters in it, but it looks excellent and won't seem distracting or wrong to wear. Noah's soft, dark red jacket is one of the best outfits for the main cast, and we want it for ourselves.

The Lifesage outfit belongs to a post-game character, so we will not elaborate any further on that but will instead talk about how odd this piece looks. This Class will grant you some sort of collar and shoulder pad piece with puffy, yellow sleeves attached to it to tie the entire thing together.

We feel that the colors used here really give it the extra push to become a decent outfit, but it's so bizarre and offers too little to consider it a great piece. However, what it does offer helps it overcome the traditional pitfalls, placing it towards the middle of the pact.

Troubador's outfit belongs to the one and only Miyabe and was quite honestly one of the hardest to rank. While it looks undeniably stylish, it sort of loses its elegance on some characters thanks to their default attire showing beneath it, ruining the outfit's aesthetic completely.

For example, Noah's black undershirt showing beneath it ruins the entire point of the outfit. Had he just had this on, it would have looked much better. The shame here is that the white and green colors look phenomenal, and so does the Off-seer robe. It just does not look good on some of the cast, thanks to their inability to part with their undershirt.

Soulhacker belongs to the jolly, carefree, and shockingly friendly Moebius Consul, Triton, who joins your squad after you best him in a friendly competition. While this outfit does look cool, only having the top half of the sleek and daunting Moebius armor is a bummer.

The cape, bright red with purple accents, and the intricate designs on the armor itself are all spectacular and bring this outfit to life. Still, not having the bottom half of the armor set makes some characters look out of place when wearing it, which is why it fails to crack the top fifteen.

Juniper's Stalker Class is next, offering a rather stylish twist on the 'shoulder pad and cape' combo we've covered with Gray's Full Metal Jaguar outfit. The slick looking chest piece, asymmetrical shoulder pad, and neatly designed cape make this one of the best offerings in the game. While not the best, Juniper's sense of style is unmatched in the game's early portions.

There's no question that Juniper is one of Xenoblade Chronicles 3's best characters, but their attire is also incredible, which is a rarity. Though there are, unfortunately, much better outfits in the game than Juniper's, we feel having them kick off the top fifteen felt right.

Taion is a criminally underrated character with an equally as underrated outfit. His Tactician's attire is by far the best out of the original starting Classes, and it looks phenomenal on every character to boot. The stylish red and white jacket topped off with a long red scarf is such a powerful look, and we love pretty much everything about it.

This outfit is similar in many ways to Juniper's, but we feel that the scarf and color scheme really make it pop and stand out more. There's nothing like a fabulous scarf, especially when you can pull it off with style, and each character does just that flawlessly.

Teach and his Thaumaturge Class is now the current topic of discussion, with his outfit offering a fashionable robe. The complex designs of the robe and the blend of blues and grays make this look far more incredible than we anticipated.

On top of that, the Thaumaturge outfit fits every character well, even if it only changes their top half. This robe looks comfortable yet combat-ready, which seems like the best of both worlds colliding with one another. Leave it to the Teach, and his meditation habits, to come up with something so warm and powerful looking.

Ethel is the first Hero you will have join your party, thus unlocking the clothing system for each main character. And while her outfit isn't the greatest, it's still really good and quite powerful looking, almost as if it demands respect on the battlefield, which is absolutely something we'd expect from Ethel.

The Flash Fencer's outfit consists of a long trenchcoat, sleek shoulder pads, and a black shirt underneath to give it the contrast it needs to stand out. Overall, this attire goes well with every character. It's clean, strong, and modern looking, which are all plusses in our book.

Like the Lifesage Class, the Royal Summoner belongs to yet another post-game character, so we won't delve too much into that. Instead, let's look at their incredibly stylized outfit with lots going on that makes it look and feel very unique than what we've recently covered.

There's not much to hate here, it's just an incredibly well-designed outfit. The dull blue undershirt pairs excellently with the grayish white overcoat with gold trimming, and the intricate and layered design of the attire makes it feel unique and one of a kind. And honestly expensive.

Valdi's War Medic Class takes the spotlight next, offering one of the few outfits that change the entire appearance of your character. Well, except for the boots. Nonetheless, this steampunk jumpsuit is one of the best-looking attires in the game for various reasons.

Not only do you get a cool arm pad, but you get a large metal drum on your back that looks futuristic, yet not enough to throw off the whole steampunk appearance. The dark blue jumpsuit blends well with the splashes of brown that appear throughout the outfit. Valdi and his wardrobe deserve props.

Strategos belongs to the kind soul of Isurd, who possesses one of the best outfits in the game. You know how Teach's robe was a delicate balance of relaxation and battle-ready? Well, Isurd's leans more heavily towards the combat side of things, and it looks incredible.

We mean, just look at this thing. This robe looks like something a samurai would wear into battle. The tall shoulder pads, an uwa-obi rope tieing it together, and gold trim make it seem dominant and fearless. The Strategos outfit is undoubtedly one of the best offerings in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

What's better than the best Nopon duo around? How about dressing like them?! With the Yumsmith outfit, you can look like either Riku or Manana, depending on the character, making it one of the more unique sets in the game. Some characters (Mio, Taion, and Sena) will sport the look of Manana, while others (Noah, Eunie, and Lanz) will take after Riku.

Manana's outfit consists of an adorable chef's hat, an orange top with a blue bow, and tassels hanging from your shoulders. It's quite a wonderful outfit. Riku's, on the other hand, has a fur hat and a not-so-interesting chest piece. But at least the fur hat makes up for it. Despite Manana's outfit carrying most of the weight here, this is a fun, stylish, and very clever outfit.

Segiri's Machine Assassin outfit had tremendous potential. Still, they ultimately failed to crack the top five due to the odd decision of placing bad-looking shoulder pads and gauntlets on all the male characters instead of simply placing them in jumpsuits as well. Instead, only Mio, Eunie, and Sana are equipped with an outfit that resembles Zero Suite Samus from the Metroid series.

The orangeish brown leggings pair perfectly with the muted grayish black top, which makes their sick kicks pop even more with the blue highlight at the top. It's just a shame Nioh, Taion, and Lanz got fitted with one of the worst shoulder pads imaginable. However, the other design looks so good that we could not place this any lower.
